Stridelane Control app
Stridelane Control is the companion app for Stridelane pacing-light hardware. An account is optional. You can continue without logging in and use the app with information stored only on your device. The app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking.
If you create an account, Stridelane collects the name and email address you provide and an internal user ID through Firebase Authentication. After you verify your email address, the app uses Google Cloud Firestore to synchronize your workout templates and meet plans between your devices. Synced content can include names, distances, target times, start marks, colors, workout steps, event details, and the timestamps used to resolve changes from multiple devices. This information is linked to your account and is used only to authenticate you, provide cloud synchronization, preserve offline access, protect the service, and support account recovery or deletion.
The app also stores controller settings, pacing events, workout templates, meet plans, queue state, and appearance preferences locally on the device. Account workouts are cached locally so they remain available when the phone leaves the internet and joins a Stridelane controller's private Wi-Fi network. If you use the app without an account, your locally stored workouts and meet plans remain on that device unless you later sign in; pre-login workouts are then automatically copied into the verified account's library, while pre-login meet plans remain local.
Google provides Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore as service providers for account and synchronization features. Stridelane does not use account or workout data for advertising, marketing, third-party analytics, data-broker sharing, or cross-app tracking.
With your permission, the app uses Bluetooth and the local network to discover and communicate with nearby Stridelane hardware. On iPhone and iPad, the app can ask iOS to join the private Stridelane Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi credentials are handled by Apple's system network configuration and are not sent to Stridelane servers. Controller commands and status data travel only between the app and the locally connected Stridelane controller.
The app's demo mode simulates a controller on the device and does not send demo activity to Stridelane.
Information you provide
When you submit a quote request, contact inquiry, waitlist form, or other website form, Stridelane may collect information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, school or organization, meet name, meet date, meet location, event details, purchase interest, and any message or notes you submit.
If you contact Stridelane by email or social media, we may collect the information included in that message and any related contact details needed to respond.
Information collected automatically
The website may collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring page, timestamps, and server logs. This information helps operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
If analytics, form, customer-management, map, distance, commerce, or similar tools are enabled, those tools may collect information according to their own privacy practices.
How information is used
Stridelane may use information to provide app accounts and cloud synchronization, respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, coordinate meet planning, provide event support, manage purchase interest or waitlists, send requested follow-up, improve website content, maintain internal records, protect the app and website, and operate the business.
How information is shared
Stridelane does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers, including Google for Firebase account and cloud-storage services, or with contractors, event partners, payment or commerce providers, form processors, customer-management tools, hosting providers, analytics providers, or other vendors when needed to operate the app or website, respond to requests, coordinate services, or run the business.
Information may also be shared if required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Third-party links and platforms
The website may link to third-party platforms such as Instagram, X, LinkedIn, commerce providers, form providers, or other websites. Stridelane is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or platforms. Review their privacy policies before providing information to them.
Retention
Account information and synchronized app content are retained while your account is active. You can delete the account from Settings in the Stridelane Control app; this removes the account and its cloud library. Device caches and other local-only information can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Stridelane otherwise keeps information as long as reasonably needed for inquiries, quotes, event planning, customer records, business operations, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
Your choices
You may use the Stridelane Control app without an account, manage or delete an account from the app's Settings, or contact Stridelane to request access, correction, or deletion of information you provided. We may need to keep certain information when required for legitimate business, legal, accounting, security, or recordkeeping reasons.
You can choose not to submit website forms, but Stridelane may need certain details to respond to quote requests or service inquiries.
Children's privacy
The website is intended for coaches, meet directors, athletes, parents, schools, organizations, and other visitors, but it is not directed to children under 13. Stridelane does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
Security
Stridelane uses reasonable efforts to protect information submitted through the website. No website, email, or internet transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your inquiry.
Changes to this policy
Stridelane may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last-updated date.
